At the heart of Brazil’s pulsating economy, the two sectors come to transform the country’s agricultural production
Agribusiness and mining are two sectors that usually leverage the Brazilian economy and, although they may seem quite distant, they actually go hand in hand. So much so that agrominerals are an increasingly strong and present reality in agribusiness. And not only economically speaking.

WHAT ARE AGRIMINERALS?
Agri-minerals are inputs extracted from mining and applied to agriculture. Among the main minerals are phosphate and potassium, widely used in fertilizers applied in agriculture.
Last year, some studies and projections made by the Ministry of Agriculture pointed out that Brazil should increase its food production by 27% in the next decade, which, consequently, also projects a relative increase in the need for mineral inputs to assist this production chain.
MINING PRESENT IN AGRIBUSINESS
The world is growing very rapidly and population advances require an ever-increasing supply of food. One of the biggest obstacles to this expansion is precisely this question: how to increase food production without increasing the environmental impacts on agriculture? It is at this crucial point that mining plays a fundamental role.
Besides the fact that minerals are present in various equipment used in the field, they are also responsible for a more strategic function: the improvement and maintenance of the soil.
The use of mineral fertilizers in agriculture assists in the maintenance of soil fertility, helping to significantly increase productivity, quality, and economic and environmental sustainability.
In other words, they help maintain a good nutrient content in the soil, so that the development of crops is stronger, more agile, and productive, allowing more to be harvested from the same amount of land.
